HONESTY. EXCELLENCE. ACCOUNTABILITY. VALUE.
WELCOME TO UNIVERSAL APPLIANCE AND KITCHEN CENTER
It’s more than only the price. It’s about the people. The knowledge. The follow up. It’s about creating a genuinely IMMERSIVE experience like no other.
In today’s marketplace, we tend to view appliances as just another commodity. Generally, all of the large appliance stores and major retailers offer competitive pricing, as they must adhere to stringent pricing standards determined by the appliance manufacturers, known as UMRP "Unilateral Minimum Retail Price.” So, we can expect an appliance store to offer the best possible prices. What is not typical is the product selection at the showroom. The purchase experience. The follow through. The installation. Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center aims to stand apart by offering the greatest brand selection in Southern California, and providing a uniquely immersive shopping experience.
More than only an appliance outlet, or even a premier retailer of the best brands in home and kitchen appliances, decorative plumbing fixtures and outdoor grills, Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center is a purveyor of LIFESTYLE Solutions.
Explore and discover here, and in one of our appliance center locations, why we say it’s about delivering a WOW experience EVERY TIME.

Westwood Village was established by the Janss Investment Company in the 1920s as a company headquarters and shopping district. The boom of Westwood Village complemented the UCLA boom, which moved to the area in 1925. The area was developed as a shopping district for the university and the residents of Westwood.
When it was opened in 1929, the design was considered to be one of the most well planned commercial areas in the nation. The company management hired architects to create a Mediterranean theme with decorative Spanish tile, patios, courtyards, and clay tile roofs. The area opened with 34 businesses with Harold Janss determining the location of each within the neighborhood. Despite the Great Depression, by 1939, there were 452 businesses in Westwood Village.
The area continued to develop and by 1999 was considered to be upscale economically. While parking is cited to be a problem, there are many shops and restaurants of all sizes with a population of almost 49,000 residents.
