Appliance Store Lawndale

HONESTY. EXCELLENCE. ACCOUNTABILITY. VALUE.

WELCOME TO UNIVERSAL APPLIANCE AND KITCHEN CENTER

It’s more than just the price.  It’s about the people.  The knowledge. The follow up.  It’s about creating an IMMERSIVE experience like no other.

Appliances have now become a standard item in the market. Most big retailers and appliance shops maintain competitive prices, conforming to strict pricing rules known as UMRP "Unilateral Minimum Retail Price" imposed by the appliance manufacturers. Hence, it's expected for an appliance store to present the lowest prices they can. However, what often lacks is the variety available in the showroom, the quality of customer service, the consistency of follow-up, and the professionalism in installation. Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center distinguishes itself by providing the widest selection of brands in Southern California, alongside crafting an exclusive immersive shopping journey.

Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center is more than just a place for buying appliances or a top retailer for the finest home and kitchen appliances, decorative plumbing, and outdoor grills; it stands as a provider of LIFESTYLE Solutions.

We invite you to explore and find out for yourself, either online or at any of our appliance center locations, why we focus on offering a WOW experience EVERY TIME.

Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center and Lawndale, CA

Lawndale, situated in the South Bay area of the Greater Los Angeles region, the city has a rich history. The Tongva tribe, native Americans, were the original inhabitants of the region.

From the 1780s, the territory that Lawndale encompasses was part of Rancho Sausal Redondo, a significant land grant from the Spanish colonial era covering a large portion of today's South Bayshore area.

In the 1970s, Lawndale became appealing due to its relatively low housing costs, yet favorable location compared to nearby cities. This attracted absentee landlords, leading to a significant increase in the number of residents renting their homes.

In 2004, a large electronic billboard was erected and started to display ads, initially without realizing it breached a local ordinance against advertising out-of-town businesses through such means. For its initial 18 months, Fox sponsored the billboard, using it to promote its television shows and movies. Afterward, it briefly held a sponsorship with Acura, followed by its current sponsor, Los Angeles radio station 100.3 – The Sound. This billboard brings in about $200,000 yearly for Lawndale.

The city covers a total area of 2.0 square miles (5.2 km²), all of which is land, as reported by the United States Census Bureau.

Lawndale is neighbored by Redondo Beach to the west and southwest, Hawthorne to the north, Torrance to the southeast, and the unincorporated community of El Camino Village (also known as Alondra Park) to the east.

Major transportation routes through Lawndale include Interstate 405, Hawthorne Boulevard (State Route 107), and Artesia Boulevard (State Route 91), which transitions into a freeway to the east. The city is located approximately 5.7 miles southeast of Los Angeles International Airport.

  • Intersection of Rosecrans Ave. and Hawthorne Blvd.
