Appliance Store Laguna Beach

HONESTY. EXCELLENCE. ACCOUNTABILITY. VALUE.

WELCOME TO UNIVERSAL APPLIANCE AND KITCHEN CENTER

It’s more than just the price.  It’s about the people.  The knowledge. The follow up.  It’s about creating an IMMERSIVE experience like no other.

Most major retailers and big appliance stores generally offer competitive prices. They are required to comply with strict pricing guidelines established by the manufacturers, known as UMRP (Unilateral Minimum Retail Price). Therefore, finding an appliance store with the best prices is often expected. However, what truly sets a retailer apart isn't just pricing, but the variety in the showroom, the quality of customer service, the follow-up, and the installation process. Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center distinguishes itself by featuring one of the widest selection of brands in Southern California and offering an extraordinary, immersive shopping experience.

Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center goes beyond being a mere appliance retailer of the finest brands in home and kitchen appliances, decorative plumbing fixtures, and outdoor grills. We are dedicated to providing LIFESTYLE Solutions. Come and see for yourself at one of our appliance center locations.

Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center and Laguna Beach, CA

Laguna Beach, with the Spanish name meaning "Lagoon," is a city in Orange County, California. It is located along the Pacific Ocean and is known as a seaside resort city with a mild year-round climate, picturesque coves, and a strong commitment to environmental preservation.

As of the 2020 census, its population was 23,032.

Originally inhabited by Paleoindians, the Tongva people, and later Mexico, the area became part of the United States following the Mexican–American War. Laguna Beach was settled in the 1870s, officially founded in 1887, and incorporated as a city with its current government in 1927. The city adopted a council–manager form of government in 1944. Its isolation from urban sprawl has been maintained by surrounding hills, limited highway access, and a significant greenbelt area. The coastline of Laguna Beach is safeguarded by 5.88 miles (9.46 km) of state marine reserve and 1.21 miles (1.95 km) of state conservation area.

The city is also notable for its prehistoric Paleoindian civilization. In 1933, the first fossilized Paleoindian skull in California, known as "Laguna Woman," was discovered during construction on St. Ann's Drive. Initially thought to be over 17,000 years old, revised estimates place it in the Holocene era, approximately 11,700 years ago. Several prehistoric encampment sites have been found in the area.

As part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area, Laguna Beach has a total area of 9.8 square miles (25.4 km2), with 8.8 square miles (22.9 km2) of land and 0.97 square miles (2.5 km2) of water. The city's 7-mile (11 km) coastline includes 27 beaches and coves. It is bordered by the Pacific Ocean, Crystal Cove State Park, Laguna Woods, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Dana Point, and the unincorporated community of Emerald Bay.

Laguna Beach experiences a Cold semi-arid climate under the Köppen classification (BSk). The area enjoys mild weather with abundant sunshine throughout the year. Average temperatures range from 68°F (20°C) in January to 80°F (27°C) in August, with annual precipitation at 13.56 inches (344 mm). Ocean water temperatures typically vary from 59°F (15°C) in February to 68°F (20°C) in August, sometimes peaking at 72°F (22°C) in September.

The city has a rich surfing history, particularly around the rocky reefs between Brooks and St. Ann's Streets. The Brooks Street Surfing Classic started in 1955, is considered one of the world's longest-running surf competitions. The event is held only during peak summer swell conditions and has occurred 52 times between 1955 and 2015. It is exclusive to Laguna Beach residents, with famous participants including Hobie Alter, Mickey Munoz, and Tom Morey.

Laguna Beach is unique in Orange County for being protected by both a greenbelt inland and a bluebelt seaward. In 1968, Laguna Greenbelt was founded to conserve the surrounding hills and canyons, leading to over 20,000 acres (8,100 ha) of contiguous wildlands that include The Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, Jim Dilley Preserve, Crystal Cove State Park, and Aliso-Wood Canyons Wilderness Park.
